Press Release 1st August 2008 – Leipzig GC

Momentum AS proudly announces the widely anticipated sequel to Culpa Innata and the continued adventures of Phoenix Wallis.

Welcome to the Resistance and the Dark World of...

Culpa Innata 2: Chaos Rising

Odessa, 2047

In Culpa Innata, gamers first met a young ambitious peace officer, Phoenix Wallis. While investigating the murder of a World Union citizen, Vassily Bogdanov, she not only identified the murderer, but also discovered a strange Virtual Reality (VR) device at the heart of a vast criminal enterprise. One that began in the vast reaches of the Rogue States, reaching deeply into the World Union. At the end of Culpa 1, the success she had always craved was near. But life and events are rarely that simple. Faced with growing disillusions with the World Union, lingering questions about her past, and ultimately her future in this perfect society Phoenix arrives at a decisive point in her life. What of the mysterious Renovators and other strange events? And then there are the increasing nightmares, clouding her mind with unanswered questions about her past. What does it all mean?

Case closed? Not for this intrepid young woman.

Culpa Innata 2: Chaos Rising begins with Phoenix's journey to the heart of chaos and resistance, the Rogue States, armed by a deceptively simple mandate. Meet the Russian detective in charge of the case, take custody of the captured murderer and transport him to the World Union to face ultimate justice. But Phoenix is not the same young woman who started this investigation and what began in Adrianopolis follows a wild and unpredictable path to surprising conclusions.

Play as both Anatoly Pavlov, the cynical survivor of societal collapse and the disillusioned yet politically naive [b]Phoenix Wallis[/b[. Deeply bound by mysterious events, Anatoly and Phoenix will encounter obstacles far more challenging than ever before, testing their courage, determination and wits as they seek the truth hidden beneath the worlds that they know.

Hey, looks like a picked a great time to finally check to forums again. If the US version gets censored again I'd be very grateful if you could release a director's cut version online.

Also, give us a gamma slider!

Sex scenes, basically. But there was apparently another nightmare scene as well as a longer ending scene that we missed out on as well.

I second Shoelip's suggestion. :)

The idea of having a director's cut version online. Either that or a European version in English. I'd just like to know that I'm getting the whole game, seeing the whole story. I feel as though I missed some things with Culpa 1. :)

And how timely - seems like all sorts of governments are pissed about peoples access to info flow and the net.

and people just keep opening sites and access :)

Jorian, unfortunately I haven't heard anything recently. Let's see if Nix is around and responds. If not, I will try to get a hold of her for you and ask. :)

UPDATE: Okay, I have gotten in touch with Nix. Here is the response she sent me:

Quote:
Is the game delayed, yes. Unfortunately, when the down turn came last year many developers were left being owed money, a lot of money. Including Momentum.

But, the team has not given up yet. Too much work put into it already and so many gamers anticipating the game.

And there are a great many games that go through delays, YET people keep them going and eventually released to their fans. consider the long road Gray Matter has taken to release, among a few others ...

So still Culpa is still here, just delayed.

Hopefully this helps. Like you, I am really anticipating this game and hope we will one day be able to play it. Gray Matter is being released this year, by the way. Hopefully Culpa 2 will be able to get through all the hurdles in a similar manner, and we will be able to pick up our copies. :)

Good, then I can go back to stalking :)

Also, I hope the long hiatus is used for polishing the game and getting rid of bugs, and the pause is not just a waste of time entirely.
